Dr. Rebecca Ronkar
Why did you become a dentist? +
I always knew I wanted to do something with healthcare or music. I am missing eight permanent teeth that never developed, so I spent a lot of time in the dental chair with some amazing dentists. That's when I knew I wanted to pursue dentistry.
Where did you go to school? +
- High School: Columbus High School
- Undergrad: University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- Dental School: UNMC College of Dentistry
What is your approach to patient care? +
I truly care about my patients. I want to do what is best for the patient and strive to treat them the same way I would treat my family. I understand that dental work isn't always easy, and I want to ease any fears by being patient and kind. Trust is key to a good doctor-patient relationship. I always go over all options with my patients, and we decide together what the best option will be.
What do you love most about serving your patients? +
I love seeing my patients through all phases of life. It brings me so much joy to have a patient I have seen since childhood bring their own children to see me! I greatly enjoy caring for my patients and building lasting relationships.
What do you enjoy outside of work? +
I love to sing! I studied psychology and vocal music performance in college. I sing at my church, for weddings, and for funerals, and I'm in several community choirs. My family is a huge part of my life, and much of my free time is spent with my husband, two children, our cat, and our dog.
Anything else you'd like to share? +
I've lived in Columbus, NE since I was 5 years old. I'm so happy that I get to continue to live and work in this wonderful community. We really do have the best patients!
